With a cup of coffee in hand, I was reading something nice about a woman and her garden. Of course, I forgot about the coffee and spilled it on my lap! For me, it was something normal and amusing.
We need to clean the house quickly, and some chores are a bit too much for me, because I don't like to rush, plus I get tired very quickly. I can't clean the whole house in one day, because I would collapse and probably wouldn't get up for three days.
The house where we live didn't have a door leading to the terrace, so I asked my husband to remove a window and the radiator beneath it, so we could go directly into the garden.
The two cats, one Romanian, who can only use three paws, and the other German, have a specially arranged spot, surrounded by plants placed haphazardly. The gratitude of the Romanian one is very noticeable, because I picked her up from the street, gravely ill. The other one was also very ill, but I got her from someone who was helping an animal shelter. We don't let them wander aimlessly throughout the garden, because the Romanian one sneaks like a marten through any crack, and the other one, furry, when scared, runs in the completely wrong direction. So we fenced off a good part of the garden just for them.
Around the terrace are lilacs, lilies, two fig trees (whose fruits don't get a chance to ripen), lemon balm, honeysuckle, roses, hydrangeas, several varieties of poppies, daisies, clover, hyssop, lots of lavender, arugula, mallow, oregano, rosemary, thyme, bay leaf, sweet woodruff, carnations, common sage and another, more aromatic, variety of sage, past which, if I walk, the scent stays on my clothes for several days.
Also in this part of the garden is a fir tree. When I first saw it, I immediately thought of the cotton candy from my childhood! Then, when I noticed the holes in the fir tree's crown, where the little birds go in and out when they nest, I thought they resembled the mountain caves where monks and nuns used to retreat.
Because I really like colors, I have colorful clothes, and sometimes, when I'm in a less-than-good mood and the temptation of the question gnaws at me, I think about the flowers in the garden, and that's how they solve my dressing problem. All colors match, if combined as in nature.
Here, in this part of Germany, people generally dress in dark colors... It's so dull and sad! Once, a woman stopped and simply congratulated me for having the courage to dress colorfully! I was stunned.
In the village, I saw that the owner of the flower shop also dresses like the flowers, in colors. So there are two of us!
May angels embrace you with the beauty and fragrance of flowers!
