Oh, this world, whose is it?

I read somewhere about Martin Luther, the reformer. Incredibly intelligent, brilliant, obsessed with control, he was translating the Bible from Latin into German, and one evening, broken, he opened the window, the sun was setting, and he cried out: "Lord, this world, whose is it? Is it Yours or is it mine? Well, if it's Yours, take care of it, because I'm going to bed."

I often tell this story to those frightened by the weight of the moment. And I often think about it when worries weigh me down. Let us go to bed entrusting ourselves to God; He will take care of us and His world.
