Hesychasm, the Seal of Our Salvation

To those who complain that they are losing God, that they cannot preserve grace, Archimandrite Emilianos tells them: "Hesychasm is the means of not losing God, but of having Him, both when He is before us and when He is not."

Yes, in the conditions of ordinary life, not only now, but always, we cannot hold onto God, even if sometimes we touch "the hem of His garment." But this is not an excuse; on the contrary, it is a deep pondering for those who truly seek Him: how are we to remain ceaselessly in communion with the Lord, with the Source of Life and our salvation?

To all this, Geronda Emilianos answers us with a single word: hesychasm.
