I write with bodily pain, but with a sweet spiritual solace. It's the month of May, and I was thinking that everything happening around me, what's happening to me, is more intense, more profound, more full of lessons...
Two years ago, I was meeting with the Saints from this period. In fact, they joined me on the path that seemed arduous, full of sharp stones which, when I trod on them, caused me all sorts of wounds. But the Saints took care to apply balm and bind the wound.
This year, Saint Ephraim hastily offered me a spot for an ultrasound. Eight years ago, he offered me Sofian, in my arms. Saint Job, the long-suffering, thought to show me the wound and to make me heed his courage, faith, and hope that, no matter how much it hurts and no matter how hard it is to bear, God heals and does not leave any debt unpaid. Two years ago, Saint John, the much-beloved friend of Christ, together with Saint Parascheva, presented me with the illness, but also its courage, beauty, and sweetness. This year, he gave me the comfort and hope that in any suffering is hidden the boundless love of God!
My words are simple and unskillful, but I wanted to tell you, dear friend, who perhaps will read these lines, that you are not alone on your path. Everyone has their suffering, spiritual or bodily. Everyone has their pain and weakness. Certainly, you placed your hope in a person, or at least you created, unintentionally, expectations, and it hurt you. And yes, it hurts a lot when black clouds are overhead, and those around you scatter. But you are not alone! If two Sundays ago we heard: "Lord, I have no one!", last Sunday we were told: "Lord, give me this water, so that I may not thirst again, nor come here to draw".
It's a good occasion to once again join hands with the saints, to make a new good start, to take up the cross again, and to continue walking towards Resurrection... day after day!
Heart up and eyes on Jesus!
