Mother Siluana Vlad speaks to us
Sometimes people no longer cry, not because they have healed, but because the pain has gone beyond tears. They have been hurt so often that they have learned not to expect anything, not to ask, and not to believe that anyone could stay by their side.
Unprocessed pain hides in coldness, distrust, and weariness. The person seems strong, but their strength is a fortress that no one can enter. They are no longer easily hurt because they no longer let even love touch them.
Healing begins painfully: by recognizing the wound, by giving up the mask of indifference, and by accepting help. Sometimes confession, prayer, a patient spiritual father, but also a psychologist or doctor are necessary. Faith does not ask the soul to deny what pains it.
Christ does not break down the door of the heart. He remains close until the person dares to show Him the place they have hidden from everyone.
The hardest healing is not to forget the harm received, but to no longer let that harm dictate the way you love. The wound explains the coldness, but it must not become destiny.
