Saint Sophian reads the Prayers of Forgiveness.

Prayer of Forgiveness before the Sacrament of Confession

O God, our Savior, You who, through Your prophet Nathan, granted forgiveness to David, who repented of his sins, and accepted the penitential prayer of Manasseh, You Yourself also accept these Your servants, who repent of their transgressions, with Your known love for mankind, overlooking all their faults. For You are our God, Who commanded us to forgive seventy times seven those who fall into sin, because as is Your glory, so also is Your mercy, and to You is due all glory, honor, and worship, to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit, now and ever and unto ages of ages. Amen.
